It’s the last Friday of the month, which means it’s time to showcase one of our vehicles. This month, we are highlighting Ambulance 1, a 2019 Ford F-550 Horton Ambulance.
Currently, Ambulance 1 is our only ambulance. Thanks to you, our citizens, we have ordered a second ambulance, which is expected to arrive by the end of 2026. This addition will enable us to handle simultaneous calls, conduct preventive maintenance on our ambulances, and ensure continuity of operations in the event of a catastrophic engine failure, among other potentially serious situations. Our primary ambulance will be ‘front-line’ for 7 years before becoming the reserve for an additional 7 years.
Ambulance 1 is equipped with a variety of equipment, including:
- Communication Equipment: iPad, radios, MDT (Mobile Data Terminal)
- Knox Box Key
- Combustible Gas Meter
- Thermal Imaging Camera
- Automobile Lockout Kit
- SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for two Firefighters
- Water Can
- Flashlights
- Water / Ice Rescue Equipment
- Ballistic Gear
- Full complement of Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) Equipment including but not limited to:
- Cardiac Monitor – Zoll X-Series Advanced
- Full Drug Box
- Advanced Airway Management Devices
- Pediatric Specific Advanced Equipment
- Lucas – CPR Compression Device
- Stryker Power Load Stretcher
