It’s Time for Fun Fact Friday – Mechanic Edition

Did you know that outside of our personnel, our equipment is our next most vital asset? Keeping our apparatus and tools ready for service is essential to ensuring we can respond quickly and safely when our community needs us.

In an effort to remain fiscally responsible while maintaining a high level of operational readiness, we are pleased to share that Firefighter Nate Campbell has recently obtained his first Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification. This certification allows us to perform certain routine maintenance in-house, increasing our ability to keep equipment operational and ready for service.

Firefighter Campbell’s certification also supports compliance with NFPA recommendations for fire apparatus inspection, testing, and maintenance, helping ensure our vehicles continue to meet nationally recognized safety and performance standards.

Having an EVT-certified firefighter on our team not only improves the uptime and reliability of our apparatus, but also helps reduce maintenance costs by limiting the need for outside service. Investments in training like this ensure the Manchester Fire Department continues to operate efficiently while providing the highest level of service to our community.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Campbell on this accomplishment!
