Operational Demand Reinforces Investments in Staffing & EMS

This afternoon, your Manchester Firefighters responded to four separate emergency calls within just one hour and twenty minutes. One of these was a motor vehicle rollover on Pleasant St Ext.

Meeting this demand required the recall of off-duty personnel and the request for a mutual aid ambulance on two occasions. Days like this are not uncommon and highlight the increasing call volume our department manages every day.

These moments underscore the need for additional staffing and ambulance resources—and we’re thankful to share that those improvements are already underway. A new ambulance is expected to be delivered by July, and increased staffing will begin this spring. Thanks to the support of Manchester’s residents, an Assistant Chief position will be added at the end of this fiscal year, along with four additional firefighters (one assigned to each group) funded through the SAFER Grant.

Your firefighters are proud to serve this community and are extremely grateful for your continued support.
