The Manchester-by-the-Sea Fire Department recently assisted the Manchester Harbormaster, along with Tally’s Towing and Coady’s Towing, along with help from Manchester Police in securing a 5,000-pound mooring that was left suspended following a mechanical failure involving a mooring delivery truck.
Due to the significant weight of the mooring and the potential hazard it posed, it was critical to ensure the scene was stabilized promptly. With truck repairs expected to take several days, the Fire Department responded to support our partners and help secure the equipment in a safe manner.
While this type of operation may not always be highly visible to the public, it reflects the strong coordination that takes place every day between local departments and service providers. Working together ensures that potential hazards are addressed quickly and efficiently, keeping our community safe.
Public safety remains our top priority, and we appreciate the teamwork and professionalism demonstrated by everyone involved in this incident.
