On Wednesday, our new Paramedic 1 was delivered!
Over the next several weeks, the ambulance will be carefully inspected, equipped, and prepared before being placed into service. Its arrival marks an important milestone for the Manchester Fire Department: it will return us to having two in-service ambulances.
Maintaining two ambulances allows us to respond to simultaneous medical emergencies while also completing necessary preventive maintenance without leaving Manchester without an available ambulance. Previously, even routine work—such as an oil change—could temporarily take our only ambulance out of service.
This ambulance was approved two years ago. With emergency-vehicle production times continuing to grow, proactive planning, forward thinking, and a sound apparatus-replacement program are more important than ever.
We sincerely thank the Town Administrator, Select Board, Finance Committee, and the residents of Manchester for their continued support and investment in our community’s emergency services.
THANK YOU, MANCHESTER!
