The Manchester Fire Department received two requests for mutual aid today. Squad 1, consisting of two firefighters, was dispatched to Middleton to assist in the ongoing efforts to suppress a brush fire spanning over 200 acres. At 12:25 PM, Engine 1, with a crew of four firefighters, responded to a second-alarm brush fire in Gloucester. During these mutual aid operations, our town was effectively covered by four firefighters who managed several calls within Manchester. Chief McNeilly would like to commend the dedicated men and women of the Manchester Fire Department, who have worked tirelessly over the past two weeks. The Town of Manchester Fire Department has relied on mutual aid many times over the years, and we are happy to be able to support our mutual aid partners.
