Did you know your Manchester Fire Department is equipped with the HAAS Alert System?
When Ladder 1 is on an emergency response, HAAS Alert automatically sends a digital signal to navigation apps like Waze and Google Maps. This feature warns nearby drivers that emergency responders are approaching, helping them slow down, move over safely, and give us the room we need to get to emergencies quickly.
Earlier this week, Ladder 1’s run on Route 128 was visible in real-time on Waze—keeping both our crews and the public safer. We will be adding this technology to all new vehicles and slowly retrofitting our current vehicles with this safety feature.
Technology like HAAS Alert is just another way we’re working to protect our community and our responders, one call at a time.
