Did you know? The Manchester Fire Department has been awarded a 2024 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)!
This award was officially announced on Wednesday and will provide critical funding to replace our aging SCBA units—ensuring our firefighters have the safest, most advanced breathing equipment when responding to emergencies.
This success would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of Firefighter Erik Juncker, whose efforts were instrumental in securing this grant.
This grant provides $260,047.61 in federal funding and, with a required town contribution of $13,002.39, brings the total approved budget to $273,050.00.
These funds will allow us to replace our aging SCBA units, ensuring our firefighters have the safest, most up-to-date equipment when responding to emergencies. Breathing protection is critical for our members’ safety in hazardous environments, and this award directly supports our mission of protecting both our firefighters and our community.
A big thank you to FEMA and the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for supporting our department and to everyone who contributed to this successful grant application.
