Cooler weather is starting to creep in, which means your home’s heating system may be kicking on for the first time this season.

Did you know? If your Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector sounds, it’s not something to ignore! CO is a toxic, odorless, and colorless gas that can be life-threatening.

PLEASE CHECK / TEST YOUR CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR

If your alarm activates:

  1. Evacuate your home immediately.
  2. Call 911.
  3. Manchester Fire will respond and meter your home to ensure it is safe.

Some facts about Carbon Monoxide:

  • Each year, more than 100,000 people visit hospital emergency rooms because of accidental CO poisoning.
  • About 14,000 of those end up hospitalized.
  • In 2022, in the US, 1,244 individuals died from Carbon Monoxide poisoning
