At 10:52 PM last evening, North Shore Regional 911 dispatched Manchester Fire to assist Manchester Police in a missing person case. Manchester Fire collaborated with Manchester Police and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department K-9 units in the search, primarily concentrating on a large, wooded area. The responding units from Manchester Fire included Engine 1, Ambulance 1, Car 2, Squad 2, and C1. A drone asset from Gloucester Fire was requested for its capability to monitor infrared heat signatures all while being able to fly in last night’s snow. The Fire Department personnel concluded their operations at 3:54 AM this morning with negative findings. Fortunately, the missing person was located safe and sound, thanks to the coordinated efforts led by Chief Fitzgerald and the Manchester Police Department. This incident showcases yet another instance of various public safety agencies working cohesively together to achieve a positive outcome.
