Pictured here is Lt. Doucette between emergency calls, building a custom dock box designed to store and protect our portable fire pump. This box will be installed on the dock, allowing firefighters to rapidly deploy the pump to our public safety boat when needed.
While our current vessel does not have a pre-piped fire suppression system or master stream, our staff are always looking for innovative ways to improve our capabilities. Working together with the Harbormaster Department, they developed this practical solution to help provide fire protection on the water and improve our response to marine emergencies.
Is it the perfect solution? Maybe not. But it reflects the dedication, creativity, and problem-solving mindset of the men and women who serve this community every day.
