The Manchester Fire Department is committed to helping keep our community safe. We would like to remind business owners, landlords, and property managers that maintaining compliance with applicable fire and life safety codes is an ongoing responsibility.
Regular attention should be given to items such as:
- Fire alarm system testing and inspections
- Sprinkler system inspections and maintenance
- Fire extinguisher inspections and servicing
- Clear and unobstructed means of egress
- Proper storage of combustible and flammable materials
- Functional emergency lighting and exit signs
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarm requirements where applicable
Our Fire Prevention Division is available to assist property owners by conducting inspections, answering questions, and helping identify potential concerns before they become safety hazards.
Many fire code deficiencies can be corrected easily when identified early, helping to protect occupants, employees, customers, and property.
If you would like to schedule a fire prevention inspection or have questions regarding fire code requirements, please contact the Manchester Fire Department Fire Prevention Office.
